Since upstream commit334304ac2b("dma-mapping: don't return errors from dma_set_max_seg_size") calling dma_set_max_seg_size() on a device not supporting DMA results in a warning traceback. This is seen when booting the sifive_u machine from SD. The underlying SPI controller (sifive,spi0 compatible) explicitly sets dma_mask to NULL. Avoid the backtrace by only calling dma_set_max_seg_size() if DMA is supported. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
