This is a followup to "thunderbolt: Workaround an IOMMU fault on certain systems with Intel Maple Ridge". It seems like the timeout can be reduced to 250ms. This reduces the overall delay caused by the retires to ~1s. This is about the time other things being initialized in parallel need anyway*, so like this the effective boot time is no longer compromised. *I only had a single device available for my measurements: A Clevo X170KM-G desktop replacement notebook. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
