A handful of drivers all have a trivial wrapper around their ioctl handler, but don't call the compat_ptr() conversion function at the moment. In practice this does not matter, since none of them are used on the s390 architecture and for all other architectures, compat_ptr() does not do anything, but using the new compat_ptr_ioctl() helper makes it more correct in theory, and simplifies the code. I checked that all ioctl handlers in these files are compatible and take either pointer arguments or no argument. be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
