The STACKLEAK feature erases the kernel stack before returning from syscalls. That reduces the information which kernel stack leak bugs can reveal and blocks some uninitialized stack variable attacks. This commit introduces the STACKLEAK gcc plugin. It is needed for tracking the lowest border of the kernel stack, which is important for the code erasing the used part of the kernel stack at the end of syscalls (comes in a separate commit). The STACKLEAK feature is ported from grsecurity/PaX. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
