drm/msm/dp: Remove unused defines and members
Throughout the Qualcomm Displayport driver a number of defines and struct members has become unused, but lingers in the code. Remove these. drm/msm/dp: Removed fixed nvid "support"
The "desc" member of struct dp_panel is zero-initialized during allocation and never assigned, resulting in dp_ctrl_use_fixed_nvid() never returning true. This returned boolean value is passed around but never acted upon. Perform constant propagation and remove the traces of "fixed nvid". drm/msm/dp: check if VSC SDP is supported in DP programming
In the DP driver, check if VSC SDP is supported and propagate this value to dp_panel. drm/msm/dp: store mode YUV420 information to be used by rest of DP
Wide bus is not supported when the mode is YUV420 in DP. In preparation for changing the DPU programming to reflect this, the value and assignment location of wide_bus_en for the DP submodules must be changed. drm/msm/dp: Remove dead code related to downstream cap info
We read the downstream port count and capability info but never use it anywhere. Remove 'ds_port_cnt' and 'ds_cap_info' and any associated code from this driver. Fold the check for 'dfp_present' into a call to drm_dp_is_branch() at the one place it is used to get rid of any member storage related to downstream ports. drm/msm/dp: Replace open-coded drm_dp_read_dpcd_caps()
This function duplicates the common function drm_dp_read_dpcd_caps(). The array of DPCD registers filled in is one size larger than the function takes, but from what I can tell that extra byte was never used. drm/msm/dp: remove fail safe mode related code
Current DP driver implementation has adding safe mode done at
dp_hpd_plug_handle() which is expected to be executed under event
thread context.
However there is possible circular locking happen (see blow stack trace)
after edp driver call dp_hpd_plug_handle() from dp_bridge_enable() which
is executed under drm_thread context.
After review all possibilities methods and as discussed on
https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/483155/, supporting EDID
compliance tests in the driver is quite hacky. As seen with other
vendor drivers, supporting these will be much easier with IGT. Hence
removing all the related fail safe code for it so that no possibility
of circular lock will happen.

drm/msm/dp: add fail safe mode outside of event_mutex context
There is possible circular locking dependency detected on event_mutex
(see below logs). This is due to set fail safe mode is done at
dp_panel_read_sink_caps() within event_mutex scope. To break this
possible circular locking, this patch move setting fail safe mode
out of event_mutex scope.

drm/msm/dp: Add DP compliance tests on Snapdragon Chipsets
add event thread to execute events serially from event queue. Also timeout mode is supported which allow an event be deferred to be executed at later time. Both link and phy compliant tests had been done successfully. Changes in v2: -- Fix potential deadlock by removing redundant connect_mutex -- Check and enable link clock during modeset -- Drop unused code and fix function prototypes. -- set sink power to normal operation state (D0) before DPCD read Changes in v3: -- push idle pattern at main link before timing generator off -- add timeout handles for both connect and disconnect Changes in v4: -- add ST_SUSPEND_PENDING to handles suspend/modeset test operations -- clear dp phy aux interrupt status when ERR_DPPHY_AUX error -- send segment addr during edid read -- clear bpp depth before MISC register write Changes in v5: -- add ST_SUSPENDED to fix crash at resume Changes in v6: -- at msm_dp_display_enable() do not return until resume_done to avoid kms commit timeout Signed-off-by: Kuogee Hsieh <khsieh@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Rob Clark <robdclark@chromium.org> |

drm/msm/dp: add displayPort driver support
Add the needed displayPort files to enable DP driver on msm target. "dp_display" module is the main module that calls into other sub-modules. "dp_drm" file represents the interface between DRM framework and DP driver. Changes in v12: -- Add support of pm ops in display port driver -- Clear bpp depth bits before writing to MISC register -- Fix edid read Previous Change log: https://lkml.kernel.org/lkml/20200818051137.21478-3-tanmay@codeaurora.org/ Signed-off-by: Chandan Uddaraju <chandanu@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Vara Reddy <varar@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Tanmay Shah <tanmay@codeaurora.org> Co-developed-by: Abhinav Kumar <abhinavk@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Abhinav Kumar <abhinavk@codeaurora.org> Co-developed-by: Kuogee Hsieh <khsieh@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Kuogee Hsieh <khsieh@codeaurora.org> Co-developed-by: Guenter Roeck <groeck@chromium.org> Signed-off-by: Guenter Roeck <groeck@chromium.org> Co-developed-by: Stephen Boyd <swboyd@chromium.org> Signed-off-by: Stephen Boyd <swboyd@chromium.org> Signed-off-by: Rob Clark <robdclark@chromium.org> |
