[why]
The feature was disabled due to regression found during testing. Now
that all the pending issues are addressed, we are reenabling the power
saving feature again.
The feature optimizes dispclk level when user is using MPO capable
broswers or watching MPO capable videos in windowed mode. The feature
achieves power optimization by utilizing free pipes to process incoming
pixels in parallel. So it reduces max dispclk requirements for each
pipe.
Previously ODM power optimization will be disabled when MPO plane is
present due to technical challeges. This is mainly because ODM divides
pixel workload with respect to stream but MPO plane position and size
are arbitrary with respect to stream. The pixel processing workload of
an MPO plane is not guarenteed to be evenly distributed across DCN pipes.
For example if a plane is moved inside single ODM slice, all the
processing for the plane is distributed to the pipe in the current ODM
slice, while the other ODM slices don't need to process this plane. If
the plane is then moved to the middle crosing two ODM slices, each ODM
slice gets half of the workload. This is especially difficult when the
plane itself has a large source rect which can't be processed by single
DCN pipe. In this case we can't enable ODM power optimization when the
plane is only within one ODM slice.
[how]
To overcome the challeges, new pipe resource management is in place to
make sure a plane is validated with ODM power optimization support if
it can be validated regardless of its position and the same pipe
topology can be used regardless of the plane's position. When the plane
is moved outside current ODM slice, we will set recout to 0 so the pipe
can be idling without the need to update pipe topology. When the user
resizes a plane, it may result in downscaling ratio changes. When the
downscaling ratio is above single pipe's threshold, we will seamlessly
exit ODM power optimization and applies MPC combine to support the plane.
when downscaling ratio becomes smaller, we will seamlessly enter ODM
power optimization again. All these pipe transitions happen
automatically and quietly when the conditions are met without any visual
impacts to the user.

The dcn30_get_gamcor_current() function is responsible for determining
the current gamma correction mode used by the display controller.
However, the 'mode' variable, which stores the gamma correction mode,

Thus initializes the 'mode' variable with a default value of LUT_BYPASS

'stream_enc_regs' array is an array of dcn10_stream_enc_registers

to the four calls to stream_enc_regs() in the array initializer. This
means that valid indices for this array are 0, 1, 2, and 3.
The error message 'stream_enc_regs' 4 <= 5 below, is indicating that
there is an attempt to access this array with an index of 5, which is

'stream_enc_regs' array is an array of dcn10_stream_enc_registers

to the four calls to stream_enc_regs() in the array initializer. This
means that valid indices for this array are 0, 1, 2, and 3.
The error message 'stream_enc_regs' 4 <= 5 below, is indicating that
there is an attempt to access this array with an index of 5, which is
out of bounds. This could lead to undefined behavior
Here, eng_id is used as an index to access the stream_enc_regs array. If

The error message buffer overflow 'dc->links' 12 <= 12 suggests that the
code is trying to access an element of the dc->links array that is
beyond its bounds. In C, arrays are zero-indexed, so an array with 12
elements has valid indices from 0 to 11. Trying to access dc->links[12]
would be an attempt to access the 13th element of a 12-element array,
which is a buffer overflow.
To fix this, ensure that the loop does not go beyond the last valid
index when accessing dc->links[i + 1] by subtracting 1 from the loop
condition.
This would ensure that i + 1 is always a valid index in the array.

Fixes the below:
drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../display/dc/link/protocols/link_dp_dpia_bw.c:208 get_host_router_total_dp_tunnel_bw() error: buffer overflow 'dc->links' 12 <= 12

Add a NULL check for the kzalloc call that allocates memory for
dummy_updates in the amdgpu_dm_atomic_commit_tail function. Previously,
if kzalloc failed to allocate memory and returned NULL, the code would
attempt to use the NULL pointer.
The fix is to check if kzalloc returns NULL, and if so, log an error
message and skip the rest of the current loop iteration with the
continue statement. This prevents the code from attempting to use the
NULL pointer.

fix reading edp rx crc timeout failure. after
bootup, kernel setup psr with dpcd 0x170 = 5. this
notify rx psr enable and let rx fw start checking crc
for fw internal logic. rx fw may not update crc read
count within dpcd 0x246. read count is always 0. this
will lead tx crc reading timeout.
[How]
add debugfs to let test app to disbable rx crc

rx crc dpcd 0x246 successfully.
expected app sequence is as below:
1. disable eDP PHY and notify eDP rx with dpcd 0x600 = 2.
2. echo 0x1 /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/eDP-X/disallow_edp_enter_psr
3. enable eDP PHY and notify eDP rx with dpcd 0x600 = 1 but
without dpcd 0x170 = 5.
4. read crc from rx dpcd 0x270, 0x246, etc.
5. echo 0x0 /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/eDP-X/disallow_edp_enter_psr.

It has been found a regression caused by enabling this feature during ODM to
MPC combine switch when user is resizing video window. The transition is
only needed when the feature is enabled. During the transition driver will
temporary switch to use max dppclk level through SMU set hard min interface.
The interface times out and fail to configure the max dpp clock level, which caused
system issue as the desired clock can't be set. We will continue investigating
the issue and root cause the issue where max dppclk level can't be reached.
But for now we have to disable this feature as this feature will cause us to hit this
problem in common use cases during video playback unfortunately. The issue
is dcn321 specific so it won't impact other dcn revisions.

[Why]
The call currently does two things:
1. Exits DMCUB from idle optimization if it was in
2. Checks DMCUB scratch register to determine if we need to call
DMCUB to do deferred HW restore and then sends the command if it's
ready for it.
By doing (1) we prevent driver idle from being renotified in the cases
where driver had previously allowed DC level idle optimizations via
dc_allow_idle_optimizations since it thinks:
allow == dc->idle_optimizations_allowed
...and that the operation is a no-op.
We want driver idle to be resent at the next opprotunity to do so
for video playback cases.
[How]
Migrate all usecases of dc_z10_restore to only perform (2).
Add extra calls to dc_allow_idle_optimizations to handle (1) and also
keep SW state matching with when we requested enter/exit of DMCUB
idle optimizations.
Ensure cursor idle optimizations false always get called when IPS
is supported.
Further rework/redesign is needed to decide whether we need a separate
level of DM allow vs DC allow and when to attempt re-entry.

- For some SKUs, the optimal DCFCLK for each UCLK is less than the
smallest DCFCLK STA target due to low memory bandwidth. There is
an assumption that the DCFCLK STA targets will always be less
than one of the optimal DCFCLK values, but this is not true for
SKUs that have low memory bandwidth. In this case we need to
populate the optimal UCLK for each DCFCLK STA targets as the max
UCLK freq.

SMU uses discrete dpp and disp clock levels. When we submit SMU request
for clock changes in Mhz we need to floor the requested value from Khz so
SMU will choose the next higher clock level in Khz to set. If we ceil to
Mhz, SMU will have to choose the next higher clock level after the ceil,
which could result in unnecessarily jumpping to the next level.
For example, we request 1911,111Khz which is exactly one of the SMU preset
level. If we pass 1912Mhz, SMU will choose 2150,000 khz. If we pass
1911Mhz, SMU will choose 1911,111kHz, which is the expected value.

[Why]
If an OPP is used for a different OPTC without first being disconnected
from the previous OPTC, unexpected behaviour can occur. This also
applies to phantom pipes, which is what the current logic missed.
[How]
Disconnect OPPs from OPTC for phantom pipes before disabling OTG master.
Also move the disconnection to before the OTG master disable, since the
register is double buffered.

IGT `amdgpu/amd_color/crtc-lut-accuracy` fails right at the beginning of
the test execution, during atomic check, because DC rejects the
bandwidth state for a fb sizing 64x64. The test was previously working
with the deprecated dc_commit_state(). Now using
dc_validate_with_context() approach, the atomic check needs to perform a
full state validation. Therefore, set fast_validation to false in the
dc_validate_global_state call for atomic check.

The check for sending the vsc infopacket to the display was gated behind
PSR (Panel Self Refresh) being enabled.
The vsc infopacket also contains the colorimetry (specifically the
container color gamut) information for the stream on modern DP.
PSR is typically only supported on mobile phone eDP displays, thus this
was not getting sent for typical desktop monitors or TV screens.
This functionality is needed for proper HDR10 functionality on DP as it
wants BT2020 RGB/YCbCr for the container color space.

A hang was observed where a read-modify-write access occurred due to the
register for idle state being shared between DMCUB and driver.
dmcub read - idle allow / no commit
driver read - idle allow / no commit
driver write - idle disallow / no commit
dmcub write - idle allow / commit
Resulting in DMCUB re-entering IPS after a disable and keeping the allow
high.

[Description]
There is a corner case where the symclk otg flag is cleared
when disabling the phantom pipe for subvp (because the phantom
and main pipe share the same link). This is undesired because
we need the maintain the correct symclk otg flag state for
the main pipe.
For now only clear the flag only for HDMI signal type, since
it's only set for HDMI signal type (phantom is virtual). The
ideal solution is to not clear it if the stream is phantom but
currently there's a bug that doesn't allow us to do this. Once
this issue is fixed the proper fix can be implemented.

[Why]
We can hang in place trying to send commands when the DMCUB isn't
powered on.
[How]
We need to exit out of the idle state prior to sending a command,
but the process that performs the exit also invokes a command itself.
Fixing this issue involves the following:
1. Using a software state to track whether or not we need to start
the process to exit idle or notify idle.
It's possible for the hardware to have exited an idle state without
driver knowledge, but entering one is always restricted to a driver
allow - which makes the SW state vs HW state mismatch issue purely one
of optimization, which should seldomly be hit, if at all.
2. Refactor any instances of exit/notify idle to use a single wrapper
that maintains this SW state.
This works simialr to dc_allow_idle_optimizations, but works at the
DMCUB level and makes sure the state is marked prior to any notify/exit
idle so we don't enter an infinite loop.
3. Make sure we exit out of idle prior to sending any commands or
waiting for DMCUB idle.
This patch takes care of 1/2. A future patch will take care of wrapping
DMCUB command submission with calls to this new interface.

to convert to wire encoding with or without a user gamma LUT. There is
no post-blending regamma ROM for pre-defined TF. When setting Gamma TF
(!= Identity) and LUT at the same time, the color module will combine
the pre-defined TF and the custom LUT values into the LUT that's
actually programmed.

Blend 1D LUT or a pre-defined transfer function (TF) can be set to
linearize content before blending, so that it's positioned just before
blending planes in the AMD color mgmt pipeline, and after 3D LUT
(non-linear space). Shaper and Blend LUTs are 1D LUTs that sandwich 3D
LUT. Drivers should advertize blend properties according to HW caps.
There is no blend ROM for pre-defined TF. When setting blend TF (!=

On AMD HW, 3D LUT always assumes a preceding shaper 1D LUT used for
delinearizing and/or normalizing the color space before applying a 3D
LUT. Add pre-defined transfer function to enable delinearizing content
with or without shaper LUT, where AMD color module calculates the
resulted shaper curve. We apply an inverse EOTF to go from linear
values to encoded values. If we are already in a non-linear space and/or
don't need to normalize values, we can bypass shaper LUT with a linear
transfer function that is also the default TF value.
There is no shaper ROM. When setting shaper TF (!= Identity) and LUT at

Add 3D LUT property for plane color transformations using a 3D lookup
table. 3D LUT allows for highly accurate and complex color
transformations and is suitable to adjust the balance between color
channels. It's also more complex to manage and require more
computational resources.
Since a 3D LUT has a limited number of entries in each dimension we want
to use them in an optimal fashion. This means using the 3D LUT in a
colorspace that is optimized for human vision, such as sRGB, PQ, or
another non-linear space. Therefore, userpace may need one 1D LUT
(shaper) before it to delinearize content and another 1D LUT after 3D
LUT (blend) to linearize content again for blending. The next patches
add these 1D LUTs to the plane color mgmt pipeline.

v4:
- advertise 3D LUT max size as the size of a single-dimension

least) When sRGB is decoded, 1.0 -> 1.0. Therefore, 1.0 multiplier = 80

As hangs are still happening specifically with this TCON, disable PSR-SU
again for it until it can be root caused.

- When we're in a no plane config, DCN is always asserting
P-State allow
- This creates a scenario where the P-State blackout can start
just as VUPDATE takes place and transitions the DCN config to
a one where one or more HUBP's are active which can result in
underflow
- To fix this issue, force p-state disallow and unforce after
the transition from no planes case -> one or more planes active

[Description]
For mode programming we want to extend the prefetch as much as possible
(up to oto, or as long as we can for equ) if we're not already applying
the 60us prefetch requirement. This is to avoid intermittent underflow
issues during prefetch.
The prefetch extension is applied under the following scenarios:
1. We're in prefetch mode 1 (i.e. we don't support MCLK switch in blank)
2. We're using subvp or drr methods of p-state switch, in which case we
we don't care if prefetch takes up more of the blanking time
Mode programming typically chooses the smallest prefetch time possible
(i.e. highest bandwidth during prefetch) presumably to create margin between
p-states / c-states that happen in vblank and prefetch. Therefore we only
apply this prefetch extension when p-state in vblank is not required (UCLK
p-states take up the most vblank time).
