54d9490314 drm/amd/display: Set the power_down_on_boot function pointer to null
[WHY]
Blackscreen hang @ PC EF000025 when trying to wake up from S0i3. DCN
gets powered off due to dc_power_down_on_boot() being called after
timeout.

[HOW]
Setting the power_down_on_boot function pointer to null since we don't
expect the function to be called for APU.

d62d5551dd drm/amd/display: Backup and restore only on full updates
[WHY & HOW]
Since the backup and restore for plane and stream states has
a significant amount of data to copy, we will change the backup
and restore sequence to only take place during full updates.

We will also move the scratch memory to struct dc instead of dc_state
to avoid needing to allocate large amounts of memory every time
we create a new DC state.

2d5bb791e2 drm/amd/display: Implement update_planes_and_stream_v3 sequence
[WHY & HOW]
Update planes and stream version 3 separates FULL and FAST updates
to their own sequences. It aims to clean up frequent checks for
update type resulting unnecessary branching in logic flow. It also
adds a new commit minimal transition sequence, which detects the need
for minimal transition based on the actual comparison of current and
new states instead of "predicting" it based on per feature software
policy, i.e. could_mpcc_tree_change_for_active_pipes.

The new commit minimal transition sequence is made universal to any
power saving features that would use extra free pipes such as Dynamic
ODM/MPC Combine, MPO or SubVp. Therefore there is no longer a need to
specially handle compatibility problems with transitions among those
features as they are now transparent to the new sequence.

63ae548f10 drm/amd/display: Fix potential index out of bounds in color transformation function
Fixes index out of bounds issue in the color transformation function.
The issue could occur when the index 'i' exceeds the number of transfer
function points (TRANSFER_FUNC_POINTS).

The fix adds a check to ensure 'i' is within bounds before accessing the
transfer function points. If 'i' is out of bounds, an error message is
logged and the function returns false to indicate an error.

e2fdd5c525 drm/amd/display: Add left edge pixel for YCbCr422/420 + ODM pipe split
[WHY]
Currently 3-tap chroma subsampling is used for YCbCr422/420. When ODM
pipesplit is used, pixels on the left edge of ODM slices need one extra
pixel from the right edge of the previous slice to calculate the correct
chroma value.

Without this change, the chroma value is slightly different than
expected. This is usually imperceptible visually, but it impacts test
pattern CRCs for compliance test automation.

[HOW]
Update logic to use the register for adding extra left edge pixel for
YCbCr422/420 ODM cases.

86e9523fb0 drm/amd/display: Update odm when ODM combine is changed on an otg master pipe with no plane
[WHY]
When committing an update with ODM combine change when the plane is

actual hardware state, because we missed odm programming.

[HOW]
- Detect odm change even for otg master pipe without a plane.
- Update odm config before calling program pipes for pipe with planes.

The commit also updates blank pattern programming when odm is changed

combine is changed. Blank pattern is per OPP so we will need to
reprogram OPP based on the new pipe topology.

34241dc665 drm/amd/display: reenable windowed mpo odm support on dcn32 and dcn321
[why]
The feature was disabled due to regression found during testing. Now
that all the pending issues are addressed, we are reenabling the power
saving feature again.

The feature optimizes dispclk level when user is using MPO capable
broswers or watching MPO capable videos in windowed mode. The feature
achieves power optimization by utilizing free pipes to process incoming
pixels in parallel. So it reduces max dispclk requirements for each
pipe.

Previously ODM power optimization will be disabled when MPO plane is
present due to technical challeges. This is mainly because ODM divides
pixel workload with respect to stream but MPO plane position and size
are arbitrary with respect to stream. The pixel processing workload of
an MPO plane is not guarenteed to be evenly distributed across DCN pipes.
For example if a plane is moved inside single ODM slice, all the
processing for the plane is distributed to the pipe in the current ODM
slice, while the other ODM slices don't need to process this plane. If
the plane is then moved to the middle crosing two ODM slices, each ODM
slice gets half of the workload. This is especially difficult when the
plane itself has a large source rect which can't be processed by single
DCN pipe. In this case we can't enable ODM power optimization when the
plane is only within one ODM slice.

[how]
To overcome the challeges, new pipe resource management is in place to
make sure a plane is validated with ODM power optimization support if
it can be validated regardless of its position and the same pipe
topology can be used regardless of the plane's position. When the plane
is moved outside current ODM slice, we will set recout to 0 so the pipe
can be idling without the need to update pipe topology. When the user
resizes a plane, it may result in downscaling ratio changes. When the
downscaling ratio is above single pipe's threshold, we will seamlessly
exit ODM power optimization and applies MPC combine to support the plane.
when downscaling ratio becomes smaller, we will seamlessly enter ODM
power optimization again. All these pipe transitions happen
automatically and quietly when the conditions are met without any visual
impacts to the user.

1d55183c2c drm/amd/display: Fix potential null pointer dereference in dc_dmub_srv
Fixes potential null pointer dereference warnings in the
dc_dmub_srv_cmd_list_queue_execute() and dc_dmub_srv_is_hw_pwr_up()

In both functions, the 'dc_dmub_srv' variable was being dereferenced
before it was checked for null. This could lead to a null pointer
dereference if 'dc_dmub_srv' is null. The fix is to check if
'dc_dmub_srv' is null before dereferencing it.

Thus moving the null checks for 'dc_dmub_srv' to the beginning of the
functions to ensure that 'dc_dmub_srv' is not null when it is
dereferenced.

the current gamma correction mode used by the display controller.
However, the 'mode' variable, which stores the gamma correction mode,
was not initialized before its first usage, leading to an uninitialized
symbol error.

Thus initializes the 'mode' variable with a default value of LUT_BYPASS
before the conditional statements in the function, improves code clarity
and stability, ensuring correct behavior of the
dcn30_get_gamcor_current() function in determining the gamma correction
mode.

Fixes the below:
drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../display/dc/dcn30/dcn30_dpp_cm.c:77 dpp30_get_gamcor_current() error: uninitialized symbol 'mode'.

b5e161e42e drm/amd/display: Add shared firmware state for DMUB IPS handshake
[Why]
Read modify write hazards can occur when using a single shared scratch

driver and firmware. This region is uncachable.

Replace the existing get/set idle calls with reads/writes to the

15dba12c56 drm/amd/display: Implement bounds check for stream encoder creation in DCN301
'stream_enc_regs' array is an array of dcn10_stream_enc_registers
structures. The array is initialized with four elements, corresponding
to the four calls to stream_enc_regs() in the array initializer. This
means that valid indices for this array are 0, 1, 2, and 3.

The error message 'stream_enc_regs' 4 <= 5 below, is indicating that
there is an attempt to access this array with an index of 5, which is
out of bounds. This could lead to undefined behavior

Here, eng_id is used as an index to access the stream_enc_regs array. If
eng_id is 5, this would result in an out-of-bounds access on the
stream_enc_regs array.

6a068e64fb drm/amd/display: Update phantom pipe enable / disable sequence
Previously we would call apply_ctx_to_hw to enable and disable
phantom pipes. However, apply_ctx_to_hw can potentially update
non-phantom pipes as well which is undesired. Instead of calling
apply_ctx_to_hw as a whole, call the relevant helpers for each
phantom pipe when enabling / disabling which will avoid us modifying
hardware state for non-phantom pipes unknowingly.

The use case is for an FRL display where FRL_Update is requested
by the display. In this case link_state_valid flag is cleared in
a passive callback thread and should be handled in the next stream /
link update. However, due to the call to apply_ctx_to_hw for the
phantom pipes during a flip, the main pipes were modified outside
of the desired sequence (driver does not handle link_state_valid = 0
on flips).

288c0254a0 drm/amd/display: Add left edge pixel for YCbCr422/420 + ODM pipe split
[Why]
Currently 3-tap chroma subsampling is used for YCbCr422/420. When ODM

Without this change, the chroma value is slightly different than

0a5fd7811a drm/amd/display: set odm_combine_policy based on context in dcn32 resource
[why]
When populating dml pipes, odm combine policy should be assigned based
on the pipe topology of the context passed in. DML pipes could be
repopulated multiple times during single validate bandwidth attempt. We
need to make sure that whenever we repopulate the dml pipes it is always
aligned with the updated context. There is a case where DML pipes get
repopulated during FPO optimization after ODM combine policy is changed.
Since in the current code we reinitlaize ODM combine policy, even though
the current context has ODM combine enabled, we overwrite it despite the
pipes are already split. This causes DML to think that MPC combine is
used so we mistakenly enable MPC combine because we apply pipe split
with ODM combine policy reset. This issue doesn't impact non windowed
MPO with ODM case because the legacy policy has restricted use cases. We
don't encounter the case where both ODM and FPO optimizations are
enabled together. So we decide to leave it as is because it is about to
be replaced anyway.

e3854253a5 drm/amd/display: Fix buffer overflow in 'get_host_router_total_dp_tunnel_bw()'
The error message buffer overflow 'dc->links' 12 <= 12 suggests that the
code is trying to access an element of the dc->links array that is
beyond its bounds. In C, arrays are zero-indexed, so an array with 12
elements has valid indices from 0 to 11. Trying to access dc->links[12]
would be an attempt to access the 13th element of a 12-element array,
which is a buffer overflow.

To fix this, ensure that the loop does not go beyond the last valid
index when accessing dc->links[i + 1] by subtracting 1 from the loop
condition.

This would ensure that i + 1 is always a valid index in the array.

Fixes the below:
drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../display/dc/link/protocols/link_dp_dpia_bw.c:208 get_host_router_total_dp_tunnel_bw() error: buffer overflow 'dc->links' 12 <= 12

4516a79302 drm/amd/display: turn off windowed Mpo ODM feature for dcn321
[why]
It has been found a regression caused by enabling this feature during ODM to
MPC combine switch when user is resizing video window. The transition is
only needed when the feature is enabled. During the transition driver will
temporary switch to use max dppclk level through SMU set hard min interface.
The interface times out and fail to configure the max dpp clock level, which caused
system issue as the desired clock can't be set. We will continue investigating
the issue and root cause the issue where max dppclk level can't be reached.
But for now we have to disable this feature as this feature will cause us to hit this
problem in common use cases during video playback unfortunately. The issue
is dcn321 specific so it won't impact other dcn revisions.

e6f82bd44b drm/amd/display: Rework DC Z10 restore
[Why]
The call currently does two things:
1. Exits DMCUB from idle optimization if it was in
2. Checks DMCUB scratch register to determine if we need to call
DMCUB to do deferred HW restore and then sends the command if it's
   ready for it.

By doing (1) we prevent driver idle from being renotified in the cases
where driver had previously allowed DC level idle optimizations via
dc_allow_idle_optimizations since it thinks:

allow == dc->idle_optimizations_allowed

...and that the operation is a no-op.

We want driver idle to be resent at the next opprotunity to do so
for video playback cases.

[How]
Migrate all usecases of dc_z10_restore to only perform (2).

Add extra calls to dc_allow_idle_optimizations to handle (1) and also
keep SW state matching with when we requested enter/exit of DMCUB
idle optimizations.

Ensure cursor idle optimizations false always get called when IPS
is supported.

Further rework/redesign is needed to decide whether we need a separate
level of DM allow vs DC allow and when to attempt re-entry.

f0ec30549a drm/amd/display: Ensure populate uclk in bb construction
[Description]
- For some SKUs, the optimal DCFCLK for each UCLK is less than the
smallest DCFCLK STA target due to low memory bandwidth. There is
an assumption that the DCFCLK STA targets will always be less
than one of the optimal DCFCLK values, but this is not true for
SKUs that have low memory bandwidth. In this case we need to
populate the optimal UCLK for each DCFCLK STA targets as the max
  UCLK freq.
- Also fix a bug in DML where start_state is not assigned and used
  correctly.

3fc394111e drm/amd/display: Floor to mhz when requesting dpp disp clock changes to SMU
[Why]
SMU uses discrete dpp and disp clock levels. When we submit SMU request
for clock changes in Mhz we need to floor the requested value from Khz so
SMU will choose the next higher clock level in Khz to set. If we ceil to
Mhz, SMU will have to choose the next higher clock level after the ceil,
which could result in unnecessarily jumpping to the next level.

For example, we request 1911,111Khz which is exactly one of the SMU preset
level. If we pass 1912Mhz, SMU will choose 2150,000 khz. If we pass
1911Mhz, SMU will choose 1911,111kHz, which is the expected value.

dff45f03f5 drm/amd/display: Only clear symclk otg flag for HDMI
[Description]
There is a corner case where the symclk otg flag is cleared
when disabling the phantom pipe for subvp (because the phantom
and main pipe share the same link). This is undesired because
we need the maintain the correct symclk otg flag state for
the main pipe.

For now only clear the flag only for HDMI signal type, since
it's only set for HDMI signal type (phantom is virtual). The
ideal solution is to not clear it if the stream is phantom but
currently there's a bug that doesn't allow us to do this. Once
this issue is fixed the proper fix can be implemented.

8e57c06bf4 drm/amd/display: Refactor DMCUB enter/exit idle interface
[Why]
We can hang in place trying to send commands when the DMCUB isn't
powered on.

[How]
We need to exit out of the idle state prior to sending a command,
but the process that performs the exit also invokes a command itself.

Fixing this issue involves the following:

1. Using a software state to track whether or not we need to start
the process to exit idle or notify idle.

It's possible for the hardware to have exited an idle state without
driver knowledge, but entering one is always restricted to a driver
allow - which makes the SW state vs HW state mismatch issue purely one
of optimization, which should seldomly be hit, if at all.

2. Refactor any instances of exit/notify idle to use a single wrapper
   that maintains this SW state.

This works simialr to dc_allow_idle_optimizations, but works at the
DMCUB level and makes sure the state is marked prior to any notify/exit
idle so we don't enter an infinite loop.

3. Make sure we exit out of idle prior to sending any commands or
   waiting for DMCUB idle.

This patch takes care of 1/2. A future patch will take care of wrapping
DMCUB command submission with calls to this new interface.

dd4e4bb288 drm/amd/display: For prefetch mode > 0, extend prefetch if possible
[Description]
For mode programming we want to extend the prefetch as much as possible
(up to oto, or as long as we can for equ) if we're not already applying
the 60us prefetch requirement. This is to avoid intermittent underflow
issues during prefetch.

The prefetch extension is applied under the following scenarios:
1. We're in prefetch mode 1 (i.e. we don't support MCLK switch in blank)
2. We're using subvp or drr methods of p-state switch, in which case we
we don't care if prefetch takes up more of the blanking time

Mode programming typically chooses the smallest prefetch time possible
(i.e. highest bandwidth during prefetch) presumably to create margin between
p-states / c-states that happen in vblank and prefetch. Therefore we only
apply this prefetch extension when p-state in vblank is not required (UCLK
p-states take up the most vblank time).
